Preparing leadership for a high-stakes response

A business faced a sensitive situation that threatened its reputation, operations and long-term viability. Its leaders needed a coordinated way to communicate with internal and external audiences. The organization and triggering event are confidential.

The challenge

Leadership had to anticipate difficult questions while decisions were still unfolding. Isolated statements could have created inconsistent messages for staff, stakeholders and the public.

The approach

Dylan assessed communications risks and identified the audiences whose understanding could affect the organization’s response. He developed a message framework and planned when and how leadership would communicate, so internal and external materials followed the same approved direction.

Dylan’s role

He provided communications counsel, built the response structure for leadership and prepared executive messages, media guidance and public-facing materials.

The work

Deliverables included a message framework, executive talking points, press releases, public statements, anticipated questions, response guidance and a sequence for internal and external communications.

The organization’s identity and original work products are withheld. No client materials or recreated documents are shown here.

The outcome

Leadership worked from one approved message framework. Talking points, statements and response language were prepared before key decisions were communicated, giving the organization a coordinated way to respond through a difficult period.

The business remains active and generates multimillion-dollar economic impact. That is context for what was at stake, not a claim that communications alone produced the business outcome.
